Openleaks: Rival Site of WikiLeaks
Because do not agree with Julian Assange ways, some Wikileaks staff chose to leave and create a rival site called Openleaks. Site is expected to launch a rival next week.
One former staff originator Openleaks Wikileaks is Domscheit-Berg. He was suspended by Wikileaks since last September following its conflict with Assange. He then chose to go. “You can not imagine how happy I am out of Wikileaks,” said Domscheit.
Domscheit explained that the site will have the same role as Wikileaks, the leaking of information. Openleaks will receive leaked information from any source, as Wikileaks. Only, Openleaks will not necessarily publicize information freely.
They are allowed to read the leaked information in the site Openleaks are people or parties of choice. That vote is the provider of such information. This difference, said Domscheit, will make the work Openleaks remain legal and free from political conflict, while on the other hand he is still promoting transparency as Wikileaks.
For starters, the site will Openleaks is partnering with five offices in various parts of the world’s news. Domscheit hope that cooperation will extend to anyone who wanted to participate.
“The newspapers, non-governmental organizations, trade unions, and anyone who wanted to obtain information from anonymous sources. We involve all parties to run the spread of this information,” said Domscheit.
Domscheit refute the notion that Openleaks made to compete with Wikileaks. He said, Wikileaks and Openleaks have different missions.
“Our goal is fundamentally different from Wikileaks. We do not see it as a competition,” said Domscheit.
In addition to the site will launch Openleaks, Domscheit also will publish a book entitled Inside Wikileaks in January. Former employees of Wikileaks it will reveal his experiences when working for the site to unload the document into two global spotlight this weekend. One of the subtitle reads “My experience while in the most dangerous sites in the world.”
